My name is Lyndsay (Holland) Carroll. I was born in Houston, Mo, where I attended elementary school until 3rd grade when I moved to West Plains with my family. I graduated from West Plains High School in 2004, and completed my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Missouri State University in the spring of 2008. I spent my first three years at Houston teaching first grade and kindergarten. While at Houston, I completed my Master’s Degree in Specialized Reading from Drury University. In the fall of 2011, I started working at Fairview teaching middle school Communication Arts and then taught second grade for two years. I am currently the Title I Reading Specialist and work with students in small groups focusing on core reading skills.

I married my high school (ok, make that middle school) sweetheart, Jake Carroll, June 2, 2012. We welcomed our daughter, Anniston Mayo, to the world April 6, 2013, and gave her a sibling, Alivia Jean, March 17, 2015 (my sweet St. Patty’s Day baby). These three are my world… I love spending time with them. We enjoy reading books, making crafts, snuggles, and Anniston’s a huge fan of 90’s Kids Songs DVDs so we spend plenty of time singing and dancing, too. I’m also a huge fan of naps, snow days, food, family, taking pictures, and comfy sweats. My life completely changed once our girls arrived, but they make everything so much more fun.

I love working at Fairview and my colleagues have become like family. I get excited when a student figures out a tricky word, makes a connection to a story, or understands and can appreciate the story we’re reading. I have seen firsthand the impact a teacher can have on a student’s life… and my hope is to make a difference and be that positive impact for the students I work with.
