My name is Kim Wilson. I have been a Fairview Flyer for more than half my life. I graduated from Fairview in 1979. Fairview has changed a lot since then, but I still feel at home here. I have been teaching at Fairview since 1998. When I started working at Fairview I taught Social Studies. After a few years I was fortunate enough to start teaching math which is my true passion. In 2015, with the support of many parents, the Fairview Foundation, and the Fairview school board I was able to start a new program called Project Lead the Way (PLTW). It is an amazing project based program integrating science, technology, engineering and math.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BA in early childhood education. I taught for two years (kindergarten and first grade) before having my children and becoming a stay at home mom. We moved back to Missouri in 1998. I got my middle school and math certification and starting working at Fairview. I quickly learned that middle school is where I belong! I earned my Master’s Degree in education from Southwest Baptist University in 2002.

Outside of school I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening, quilting and spending time with family and friends. My two sons, Tyler and Forrest are the best gifts I have in my life. I am incredibly proud of the men they have become. And even though they are grown they continue to be the most important part of my life.
